Dream Come True
Dream Come True
The first thing after
reading this topic comes to my mind, was what does dream means to you???
Biggest Question….
- A collection of feelings, images, or emotions that
occur while sleeping.
OR
- A much-desired goal or purpose.
OR
- Anything appealing to the wish: IDEAL.
So these are some
goggled definition of DREAM.
But what actually
dreams means, it’s still a question.
Sigmund Freud says:
He assumed
dreams unconsciously exposed problems or desires that had been repressed.
According to Freud, visions are images of a childhood desire or impulse that
has been repressed ever since. Therefore Freud studied dreaming in order to
understand the unconscious mind. Therefore your visions show to you your
repressed desires, according to Freud.
Do you know that why
do we see dreams?
Dreaming happens
during the sleep period of the REM (Rapid Eye Movement). During REM sleep, the
eyes move rapidly in various directions. REM sleep usually occurs 90 minutes
after you fall asleep. During this time you appear to have intense dreams since
your brain is more active.
During REM the brain
functions differently than while we’re awake; certain areas of the brain have
become inactive, such as the prefrontal cortex that regulates critical
reasoning, while other areas become extremely activated, such as the amygdala,
the part of the brain that manages feelings. You keep on thinking about your
day through the dreaming process: your mistakes, your successes, your hopes for
tomorrow. In reality, your dream reflections are more centered and considerably
deeper, so your dreams provide you with a metaphorical perspective
about yourself.
You May Know:
Dreams are simply
fantasies that we carry out overnight in our heads; they can follow a linear
plot or be abstract. Scientists say we have about 3-6 dreams in one night and
almost 95% of those dreams are forgotten the next morning.
Do you know, there is
actually, Benefits of Dreams i.e.:
- The REM stage we dream in, for For example, also allows you to commit things that you learn to memory,
meaning dreaming will help with cognitive processes.
- Besides that, dreams offer
emotional benefits like self-reflection.
- We examine our current
problems, behaviors, and goals through dreaming.
- We come up with ideas, we sort
things out, and we take a deeper look at ourselves.
- We get a clearer picture of
ourselves and the situation so we can make better decisions.
We can actually dream
with an open eye! A great man once said: “Use the wings of the flying
universe, dream with open eyes; see in the darkness.”
I can assure you that
if you see dreams with open eyes and work hard for them, then your dream
can come true.
Exactly 7 years back I
saw a dream, to become a nurse from AKUH and yes my dream came true because I
work really hard for it.
It was not easy, not at
all but, yes if you have faith in yourself so you can do it. There was a time
when people used to ask me what I want to be; I replied ‘I want to be a BScN
Nurse’. Trust me they used to laugh and say “when a person is rejected from
every field, so they choose to nurse, are you sure you want to be a nurse in the first
place”. It was so disappointing but my family always supported me. The strange
part is that the ones who said that are with me doing nursing.
I don’t know why people
disgrace nursing??????
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) has been chosen as the TOUGHEST
courses of all other courses including MBBS, BCOMM, IAS, IPS, and
engineering by the Guinness book of world records on 18
May 2011.
What
people don’t know about BScN is you have a variety of options to choose from after
doing BScN i.e.:
·
Psychiatric
Mental Health Nurse.
·
Nursing Informatics Specialist.
·
Legal
Consultancy Nurse.
·
Research Nurse.
·
Nurse practitioner.
- The registered nurse at a hospital.
- Clinical nurse specialists.
- Nurse
Manager.
- Nursing director.
- Nurse
educator.
- Public health nurse.
·
Nurse case manager.
·
Quality assurance or
improvement coordinator nurse.
These are some of the
fields that a nurse can pursue. Dr. Khurshid Khowaja, who has been
Director of Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) Nursing Services Division since
2001, recently completed her PhD. from the University of Ballarat, Australia.
I decided to become a nurse when my father was admitted to the hospital and
what I saw was astounding. My father was a bypass patient at AKUH; he was on
complete bed rest after the operation. Every morning doctor visits him, to check
him, but what mesmerized me was that all the time my father was surrounded by
nurses helping them, supporting them not only physically but also mentally and
emotionally. I was young at that time, but I decided that
I will be a NURSE. And here I am in
3rd year of BScN from AKUH. I accomplished my dream so you all can,
what you need to do is work hard for
your dream; try not to listen to people who de-motivate you.
